Privacy policy
This page explains what Fast IELTS Studies does with your information. Your account and practice results are stored on our server; drafts you have not submitted stay in your browser. It also covers card payments handled by Lemon Squeezy and the records created when a plan is activated.
Who we are
Fast IELTS Studies is an independent IELTS practice website run by TK. It is not affiliated with IELTS, PTE, the British Council, IDP Education, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, or any official body behind those tests.
For privacy questions or requests, email info@ieltsstudies.com.
What we store
Your account and practice history are stored on our server in a database. Drafts you have not submitted yet are kept in your browser using local storage. If you use Speaking practice, your browser’s speech recognition service may send microphone audio to the browser provider to create a transcript; see Speaking recordings and transcripts below.
On our server
- Your name, email address and a password hash. The password itself is never stored.
- Which plan you selected, such as Starter, Listening + Reading, Writing + Speaking, All Access or the 2-month All Access bundle, when it started and when it ends.
- How many practice tests or assessed checks you have used in the current month, so plan limits can be applied.
- Submitted tests and their results: Writing answers, Speaking transcripts, Reading and Listening answers, English quiz answers, scores and feedback.
- A session record for each device you are signed in on, and the date and time of sign-in.
- Coupon redemptions and invoice records for plan activations (demo, test or paid).
In your browser
- Writing and Speaking drafts and Reading or Listening answers that you have not submitted yet.
- Speaking audio recordings for the current test. These are not uploaded to us and are discarded when you finish, switch tests or close the tab.
- Your language choice and which promotional banner you have dismissed.
Written answers and Speaking transcripts may be assessed by an AI model. When AI feedback is enabled, the answer or transcript, the task prompt and the timing are sent to Google’s Gemini API to produce the assessment; your name and email address are not included. Google handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Use a password you do not use for email, banking or any other important account.
You can clear the drafts and settings held in your browser at any time through your browser settings; submitted results stay on your account. To delete your account and the data we hold on the server, email info@ieltsstudies.com.
Speaking recordings and transcripts
When you use Speaking practice, each answer is recorded by your browser and kept on your device for that test. We do not upload those recordings to our server and we do not store them in our database. You can play an answer back and download a copy before you finish. The browser copy is discarded when you finish the test, switch to another set or close the tab. A downloaded file stays on your device under your control.
To create the live transcript, your browser’s speech recognition service may send microphone audio to the provider that supplies it. Depending on your browser, this is typically Google (Chrome), Microsoft (Edge) or Apple (Safari), or another browser provider. Those providers process the audio under their own privacy policies and may retain audio and related records according to those policies. We do not receive that audio; we receive only the transcript shown in the text box.
You can correct the transcript before submitting. If you block microphone access, or your browser cannot transcribe speech, you can type your answer instead. Only the transcript and test details such as timing are submitted for feedback and saved with your result. The audio recording is not part of your saved result. If AI feedback is enabled, the transcript is sent to Google’s Gemini API as described above.
Please read this policy before using Speaking practice. If you do not want your microphone audio processed by your browser’s speech provider, do not start a recording; you can type your answers instead.
Information we receive
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you choose to attach. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the support request.
Hosting logs
When the site is hosted, the hosting provider may record standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4, a measurement service run by Google. It records anonymous usage data such as the pages you visit, roughly how long you stay and your approximate location (city or region level). It is loaded only after you accept optional cookies in the cookie notice; choosing Essential only keeps the site fully usable without loading it. We use the data only to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not enable Google advertising features on this property.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in. It holds a random session token, is marked HttpOnly and Secure, and is not readable by scripts on the page. On your first visit, a cookie notice asks whether you also allow the optional Google Translate and Google Analytics services, which may set third-party cookies. Choosing Essential only keeps the site fully usable without loading those services.
Local storage is not a cookie, but it works in a similar way: it is saved by your browser on your device. It keeps drafts you have not submitted and your language choice. You can clear it through your browser settings, which removes those drafts but does not delete your account or submitted results.
You can change your optional choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
Translation
The language menu uses Google Translate. It is only loaded after you accept optional cookies, and when you choose a language, the text of the page may be sent to Google so it can be translated. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy. If you prefer not to use the translation service, choose Essential only in the cookie notice or keep the site in English.
Machine translation can make mistakes, especially with IELTS terminology and feedback. The English version is the version we maintain.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be handled by the services needed to run the site:
- The hosting provider that serves the pages and keeps server logs.
- Your browser’s translation or speech provider (for example Google), Google Fonts for typography, and Google Analytics when you have accepted optional cookies.
- Google’s Gemini API, when AI feedback is enabled, to assess a submitted Writing answer or Speaking transcript as described above.
- Lemon Squeezy, which provides card checkout and processes one-time payments. It acts as the merchant of record and handles payment information. We receive identifiers such as customer and order IDs, together with the plan, payment status and refund status needed to activate, maintain or revoke access.
- Hostinger’s email service, which delivers account, password reset, receipt and refund emails, and any support replies.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the site and its users from fraud or abuse.
How long information is kept
Account data and submitted results are kept while your account is open and for a short period afterwards in backups. Drafts in your browser stay there until you clear them. Email support messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with the request and any follow-up. Hosting logs are kept for the period set by the hosting provider. Payment and refund records are kept by Lemon Squeezy and by us for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices and rights
You can delete the drafts held in your browser by clearing site data. To access, correct or delete the account information and submitted results we hold on the server, write to info@ieltsstudies.com and we will action the request. You can also ask us to close your account at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, such as the right to correct it or object to certain uses. We will consider reasonable requests and explain if an exception applies.
You can also stop the site from loading Google Translate and Google Analytics by choosing Essential only in the cookie notice or the footer’s Cookie settings link. If you previously accepted and later switch, new visits stop loading analytics from that point.
Children
The site is intended for people preparing for IELTS and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to keep the site and our email secure, but no website or storage method is completely secure. Passwords are hashed before they are stored, connections to the site use HTTPS, and sign-in sessions are limited to three devices at a time. Submitted answers are stored on our server and need your login to reach. Drafts in your browser can be read by anyone who has access to your device or browser profile. Do not enter sensitive personal, financial or identity information into practice answers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes, particularly when new grading or payment features are introduced. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will make that clear on the site.
